Aryna Sabalenka

Sabalenka was born in Belarus in Minsk. Sergey Sabalenka (d. 2019) is her hockey-playing father. Aryna Sabalenka was born Minsk, Belarus on May 5th of 1998. In her career she has won twelve WTA singles titles. One of them was a Grand Slam at the 2023 Australian Open. Also, she is a great doubles player. She has won two other Majors in this specialty including the US Open 2019 and the Australian Open 2021 won both together with Elise Mertens. It was the Sunshine Double was achieved by Elise and her in the year 2019. They both won WTA 1000s in Indian Wells & Miami. Just four pairs of women's tennis had achieved this achievement. It was only four couples who achieved this feat when playing women's doubles. The Belarusian rose into the top spot of the doubles ranking the year following, having taking the title in Melbourne. This made her the only Belarusian tennis player to be successful in tennis. Her coach was the former Russian tennis star Dmitry Tursunov from 2018 until the end of the season in 2019 and partially at the start of 2020. The pair also briefly worked with Dieter Kindlmann between August and September 2020. Antonio Dubrov is her coach who has been with her since the start of 2020. Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova were her heroes.
